Effron White
Effron’s songs run the gamut, from folk and country, to blues and rock. The glue that holds it all together is his gravelly vocal style and lyrical content. Effron White is a singer-songwriter from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Voted "Best Folk Artist" at the 2002 Northwest Arkansas Music Awards. His vocals, combined with his percussive guitar style, lend surprising and powerful textures to his performances, whether he's belting out a lively rock or blues number, or soulfully savoring every word of a slow country ballad.

His sound and style bring to mind such artists as Bob Dylan, John Prine, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, John Hiatt, and Tom Waits.

"Day in the Sun" is Effron's first cd release. The album was nominated "Album of the Year" at the 2001 Ozark Music Awards. There are several award-winning songs on the record, including "Right Next to Nothing", which won Second Place in the 1999 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest, as well as the Grand Prize in the 2000 Enormous Records' Song Contest.
