PHOTO TIPS for Actors

DO's
1. Color photos - stick with warm beiges, tropical greens and blues
and warm yellows.. stripes or patterns and not recommended. Textured fabrics are ok.
2. B & W - choose bold or only black and white clothes. Makeup for women should be more dramatic and bolder. Think about lights and darks and how the camera will perceive them.
3. Try to get a variety of styles..
a. for women:"the mom look", "the sexy wife look" or "the businesswoman look".
b. for men: "the dad look", the "the handsome
husband look" and the businessman look"
c. children: "the natural look", the "playful look" and "the serious look"
It may take several photoshoots to acheive this.
d, teens: "the natural look", the "mature look" and the "school look".
Swimsuit shots are not required for our website. If you want to model swimsuits, we ask that you send us photos that are suitable for young people to view.
4. Ask the photographer for digital photos. We prefer photos under 1 megabyte you can email to us.
5. Have honest eyes and honest energy.
6. During your shoot....remember it's just you and the camera. Don't
be shy or embarrassed. This is your moment to shine. Let your personality
show through.

 


DON'Ts
1.Don't pose nude. Our website does not allow nude shots.
2.
If you are a female, you should never go on a photo shoot alone.
3. Don't do character shots. Funny props are not needed.
4. Don't use a busy background. It's distracting.
5. Don't pay an arm or leg for your photos. Your looks may change from year to year. Call the photographers on our site and ask for prices. Consider the their style and prices.
6. Don't give a fake smile! Honesty is key.
7. Don't hide braces or crooked teeth. Casting Directors don't like to be mislead from your photo.
8. Don't be shy! Confidence is key.
