I have been in my current
position for nearly 30 years, beginning with the ACO in January 1975. I am responsible
for selecting, casting and directing the six play Mainstage season at the ACO
and hiring production staff for our Child's Play series. I also serve as resident
set designer. I also have taught privately for the past 30 years group and individual
lessons in Acting, Directing, Stage Makeup, Stage Combat, Scene Design and Construction
and Set Painting Techniques. While at the Arts Center I have been shared
the responsibilities for the establishment of the first Dinner Theatre performed
in NWA, the first touring childrens plays based in NWA, the first Shakespeare
Festival for school children in NWA and have been recognized state wide for achievements
in Community Theatre. I have served the AAC in several adjunct committees including
being a peer panel reviewer and the nomination selection committee for the Governor's
Arts Award. I have been the Children's Theatre representative to the Southwest
Theatre Conference. I have also served as guest lecturer at CMSU, John Brown University,
and NWA area school systems. I have served as advisor and consultant for many
area community theatres and art centers. Along with my wife Kathi, ACO
administrator, I will be honored by the Arts Center for 30 years of service to
the arts community in September, recognized as Distinguished Alumni for Central
Missouri State Unversity in April of 2005, and have been named one of NWA's "grooviest"
couples by All About Town magazine. I have performed in both musical and
straight plays and have directed and designed well over 200 theatre productions
for adult and children's theatre. I have appeared on local television and have
some voice over experience for film and radio as well as commercial work for radio
